This amazing cake began as a simple idea from Julie, one of our wonderful owners. She was thinking about a St. Patrick’s Day dessert and wondered what a Chuckanut Bay treatment of this pub-inspired cake would taste like.
Julie’s idea was the first step on the long road it takes to create a one-of-a-kind cake. At Chuckanut Bay, each new cake idea is sent up to our Research and Development, or R&D, Team. This creative collection of expert bakers and tasters are the people who sift through flavor ideas from our staff, friends and fans and then turn these cheesecake wishes into a delicious reality.
The development of a new cake requires much from our R&D Team: for each approved idea, they come up with an original recipe using only the freshest, all-natural ingredients. This refining process requires many baking attempts and of course, the grueling task of tasting each cake! With every sampling, R&D uses their sensory information to help tweak the cheesecake’s recipe. This is how we ensure that consistency, flavor and appearance strike the best balance in every bite.
